So let’s start with the position. What position did you recently fill on Reflik?
I filled one software engineering position in Ohio with EnvisionRx. They recently just acquired Rite-Aid Pharmacies.
Are you new to recruiting? Is it something you’ve been doing for a while?
I’ve been recruiting for 2-3 years. I’m fairly new. I’m not so much a veteran, but my niche is more so on the IT sector.
So 2-3 years in a staffing firm or on the hiring side?
Both, corporate and at a staffing agency.
How did you get to Reflik?
While I was at my last position, I tried to see what was out there. I did my research. I came across Reflik and I saw that there were a lot of job reqs for me to work on. So I started working on Reflik.
What were your first thoughts about Reflik?
It was pretty exciting! I had never done anything like this before. I have only recruited on-site.
The flexibility and the communication that I get while working on Reflik’s positions is amazing. I can reach out to anyone at Reflik – whether that means for technical support, about a candidate, or just about anything else.
Reflik captures my workflow very well with its technology, as well.
I can really see myself growing with the Reflik platform. I would love to have my own recruitment consultancy soon. I can actually see that happening with Reflik because I can recruit on my time with some really exciting companies!
We notice that there is a ramp-up period when folks sign up with us. Could you walk us through how you got started?
I think I got started working on Reflik last year. It is hard to say because my daughter was hospitalized for three months and I couldn’t focus on recruiting as much as I would have liked to.
What I found out down the line is that the more effort and time you put into Reflik, like everything else in life, the more results you see.
I really started dedicating energy and time to filling positions on Reflik this year.
So you started actively working on Reflik this year. I am curious as to how you were able to fill three IT positions in such a short time with less than 3 years of experience. How’d you do it?
Recruiting is a business about who you know. In my previous position at a staffing agency, I made connections with a lot of candidates. I did not know it then but, after working on the Reflik platform, I realized that I was actually building a pipeline of potential candidates.
Reflik was the perfect opportunity to deploy this pipeline. There are so many job openings available on the Reflik platform. Matching candidates I know with the jobs on the Reflik platform was pretty easy.
So, I understand that Reflik connected you with the jobs. We call this “a match made in Reflik.” You bring the candidates. We bring the jobs. Is there anything else Reflik did to help you succeed?
I love Reflik’s technology. The platform is very unique. It is tailored to not just fit the candidate’s needs and the employer’s needs but also to fit the recruiter’s needs.
It is very intuitive and helpful. Every piece of information provided to recruiters is relevant, up-to-date, and in the exact place I expect it to be.
There are not a lot of services out there that give recruiters relevant, up-to-date information that is delivered in such an easy-to-follow way.
But Reflik is more than just a platform. It is also a service for recruiters. Recruiters can attend webinars, speak with account managers, read updates on job insights. There are just so many resources to stay up to date on changes to a job. In this business, there is almost nothing that is more important.
Can you talk to me more about the quality of your experience on the Reflik platform as a user? How does that help you recruiter better?
I tell a lot of my friends that Reflik is not just a tool or a piece of software, it is a lifestyle. It is a set of routines and habits that, with the help of technology, empowers recruiters to do independent recruiting really well based on industry best practices.
The user experience on Reflik is unparalleled. Reflik allows recruiters to hit the ground running. We don’t have to waste time trying to learn how the software works. All we have to focus on is what we love doing: recruiting.
I will be certain to mention that to our product team here!
You should! The experience on Reflik is better than most of the alternatives to Reflik.
But, as we’re talking about experience, I can’t help but mention the communication on Reflik. It is very easy to reach out to someone about my work. Not receiving feedback on your hard work seems to be a norm for recruiters. I don’t think that’s fair. I’m glad to see Reflik changing things!
Who do you reach out to?
Well, usually the recruiter alliance team. They are recruiters’ point of contact on Reflik. In many cases, as my candidates get later-stage interviews, account managers are very helpful as well. Reflik is also a great community of recruiters helping each other.
Certainly, account management and recruiter alliance teams are important. I’m curious as to how a relationship between two Reflik recruiters looks like. Reflik is a pretty competitive marketplace, isn’t it? How can one recruiter help the other one?
There are a lot of jobs on Reflik and they are all very different. The conversations we have are not about particular roles but about more high-level strategies.
Reflik is completely different from anything else in the recruiting space. The kind of jobs available on the platform, the amount of information given to recruiters, the tools available to recruiters – it is totally different. Whether you are new to recruiting or you are very experienced, there are a lot of things about recruiting that you have to rethink and re-evaluate.
It is always a good thing to have a community of people that you can approach and ask, “Hey, how’s it going?”
But there are certainly other forms of collaboration. Another recruiter and I invested in a subscription to a job board to help us fill more jobs on Reflik quickly and more efficiently. We still have alternative resources and methods for sourcing, but this is just one source we can share.
With Reflik, there are just so many reqs and the technology itself is so new that recruiters are not fighting amongst themselves to fill positions. In fact, it is a productive and cooperative environment.
Ultimately, this creates a great culture. We are not bogged down by the stress and pressure of having to submit more resumes. We can take our time and actually find the perfect candidate for all every job we work on.
One last question: Do you feel like collaborations with other recruiters was critical to your success on Reflik?
Yes. A large part of my work has been driven by self-motivation. Had I not been able to motivate myself to keep going, I would not have made the great connections that I was fortunate enough to make.
In the face of constructive feedback, self-motivation was the most important thing. It was the difference between learning a lesson and submitting a winning candidate and giving up, the difference between actually filling a position and never filling a position.
But I would not have been able to believe in myself if I had not connected with fellow independent recruiters who also were working on Reflik. Their success inspired me to go on.
That is so good to hear! Thank you so much for speaking with us, Jennifer. Anything else you want to say?
Thanks for having me!
Sure. Reflik is a vibrant community of really smart people that inspire each other to keep going. This is what being a part of Reflik is ultimately about. We can sit here and talk about the awesome clients Reflik brings us. We can even talk about the numbers and how using Reflik is a no-brainer to improve your bottom-line. But it all begins with motivating yourself, learning, and building relationships. And that’s why I love Reflik.
